Metatarsalgia

Metatarsalgia:

This covers a group of complaints which cause pain and discomfort under the ball of the foot. This can be caused by a change in the distribution of weight at the forefoot or by other contributing factors like Rheumatoid Arthritis, Gout, Obesity, high impact from sporting activities, ill-fitting footwear, hallux valgus to name but a few. Foot orthoses (orthotics, insoles) are used to re-distribute the weight and support the condition which may be causing the pain.
